노무현 행정부에 보내는 항의 서한
우리는 법무부가 제출한 차별금지법안에서 '성적지향'을 포함한 일곱가지 항목이 삭제된 데 강력하게 항의한다. '성적지향'은 개인의 노력으로 고칠 수 있는 게 아니며, 그 자체로 기본적인 인권으로서 보장받아야 할 항목이다. 한국의 동성애자들이 놓인 차별적인 환경과 이들이 경험하는 심각한 범죄는 한국의 젊은 동성애자 당사자들의 영화, 기록 등을 통해 우리에게 알려지고 있다. 한국은 이번에 '성적지향' 항목을 차별금지대상으로부터 삭제함으로써 근본적인 인권과 다양성에 대해 열망하는 세계적 조류로부터 후퇴하게 될 것이다. 우리는 한국 정부에 '성적지향' 항목을 법안에 다시금 포함시키지를 요구한다. 한국에 살고 있는 우리의 소중한 친구들이 취약한 사회적 소수자로 불이익을 당하지 않고 안전하게 평화 속에서 살 수 있기를 바라기 때문이다.

A note of protest to Roh Moo-hyun Administration
We protest strongly that seven items including "the sexual intention" were deleted by "the discrimination prohibition bill" that a regulation reform committee submitted this time. I cannot change "the sexual intention" by the effort of the person himself, and it is particularly the item which should be guaranteed as basic human rights. The present conditions of discrimination against Korean homosexual and a severe crime to them reach our country as a movie and the sentence that the young people concerned pictured of the your country. Because "sexual intention" takes off a discrimination item this time, Korea will retrogress for a world tide to desire fundamental human rights and variety.
I am strongly demand it to restore an item including "the sexual intention" to be able to live safely in peace without our important friend living in Korea putting on a disadvantage as the social minority and weak.

[Letter] A note of protest to the Roh Moo-hyun administration
November 8, 2007
We strongly protest against the fact that seven categories including "sexual orientation" have been deleted [by the Ministry of Justice of South Korea] from the Anti-Discrimination Bill that the National Human Rights Commission recommended. No person can change his or her "sexual orientation" through effort, which is why this is a personal attribute that especially needs to be guaranteed [and protected] as a basic human right. The discriminatory conditions and serious crimes that South Korean sexual minorities face today are well documented in movies and records that they have created. By deleting "sexual orientation" from categories that are open to discrimination [and therefore deserving of protection], South Korea will regress against the worldwide trend for fundamental human rights and diversity. We strongly demand that the deleted categories including "sexual orientation" be restored so that our dear LGBT friends in South Korea may live safely and in peace without being disadvantaged as a powerless social minority group.
